Deer Ridge was formed to serve the needs of a rapidly expanding and diverse vacation market in the Mountains of Western North Carolina.
Jim Kolisch, President and co-owner, has over 20 years of Property Management experience. He and his wife, Karen, and two daughters, Kim and Kristy, were attracted to the outdoors of WNC. The entire family enjoyed mountain biking, road biking, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. Unfortunately when he started visiting and vacationing in WNC he found locating a comfortable mountain vacation home was difficult, time consuming, and often lead to many unexpected surprises and complications.
Seeing a market niche that had not been filled Jim and his daughter, Kristy Harris, Vice President of operations and Broker-in-charge, created Deer Ridge Property Management and the vacation home division in 2005. The foundation of the company is to provide complete guest and owner services, and total satisfaction with no surprises.
The company’s services have expanded to include three divisions:
Kristy Kolisch Harris is the vice president of operations and the Broker-in-charge of the company. Her background in marketing and communications has contributed greatly to our extensive marketing campaign for our rental homes. Kristy lives in Cedar Mountain with her husband, Billy, their daughter Emma and their two Labrador Retrievers, Hayla and Lily.
Our staff includes Key Personnel Positions to meet your needs:
Hesper Dickson oversees our accounting as well as our reservations. Hesper is a licensed Real Estate Broker and brings a great wealth of knowledge to our company. She is a native of the area and has a passion for Brevard.

Karen Kolisch is the operations manager. She is responsible for all of our housekeeping and maintenance scheduling. Karen has become a great asset to our office by completing multiple tasks in a timely manner, constantly going above and beyond
Yesica Rosales is our head housekeeper who has been with our company for two years. She works with Karen Kolisch in making sure that all of our vacation rental homes meet our standard of cleanliness. Yesica and her husband have two boys, Adrian and Jayden.
Hayla, Lily and Cassie make up our clan of yellow Labradors. They are active in Frisbee and Tennis Ball operations at our office. They enjoy all of the adventure of the outdoors including swimming and hiking.
